If marketing is about AWARE, PR Public Relations, is about PERCEPTION.

How your community perceives your product or service is something that most companies perceive to be reserved for only national brands. It could be argued however, that that type of thinking is why few local businesses ever truly become successful.

The key to Local PR whether your business resides in Naples, Fort Myers, or Toluca Lake is actually how you reach out to the community. How are you involved in the daily lives of your customers. Do you sponsor events at local schools? How about sports teams. Are you involved in local Charities?

The question in short is, when people think about you, Do they think favorably, unfavorably, or worse do they not think about you at all.

Each company is different so there are a myriad variety of ways for a business owner to increase their PR Quotient. Let us give your company a thorough analysis of how you can increase your message in the local community. Trust us, there is more to PR than a Press Release.

Call 239-233-9681 now Season is coming soon. Is your message clear and ready to be delivered to your community?

This is not a rant about what Jim Cramer did or didn’t say about Bear Stearns or any other company or whether or not he did anything knowingly. Everyone has their own beliefs about it and I’m certainly not going to be changing any minds. Besides, that topic is well played out on every blog, video, and talking head in the business.

What I’d like everyone to take a look at is perhaps the most telling aspect of this whole issue. Turn the volume down on your speakers and forward the video to 3:52. Let the video play while Jim is talking. Go Ahead, I’ll Wait.

Now anyone who watches Mad Money, or has ever seen Jim Cramer talk about stocks, knows that he is tremendously overt. Whether its positive or negative he is always animated. If that’s the case, what are we seeing here?

Look at his head position. Throughout the whole dialogue regarding Bear, his head is tucked down and pulled away from the interviewer. Throughout the dialogue, he never looks at the camera for more than a half a second. Not very confident.

When he makes the comment at 4:06 his head is almost completely down with his chin resting on his neck. The comment he’s making here is about his intuition. Wouldn’t you expect that a person who is speaking about their abilities would have a more confident posture?

There are two more microexpressions I would like to point out, at 4:13 his facial expressions tense up and his whole face scrunches together as he says “Very Limited Downside”. This expression denotes strong negative almost angry feelings about what he’s saying. Then at 4:21 there is a slight headshake from his left to right when he says, “They are very good at cutting their losses” This is a traditional expression that says he doesn’t believe what he’s saying at all.

I am not an expert I can’t say he’s lying to not. I am simply saying that Jim Cramer looks like he doesn’t believe a word that he’s saying.

If you look at this whole thing with the sound off and ask yourself if you believe him, I can’t possibly see how you can say yes. Would you buy a car from someone sitting across the table from you with that posture.

I just don’t see any confidence here.

Let me know your thoughts. All rational comments will be approved.
